Katherine Murphy is an Associate Attorney in The Cook Group’s Chicago office, where her practice focuses on litigation matters involving personal injury and general liability. With a foundation in both plaintiff-side representation and educational law, Katherine brings a well-rounded and thoughtful approach to client advocacy and case strategy.
Prior to joining The Cook Group, Katherine managed a high-volume caseload involving personal injury claims, where she handled all aspects of the pre-litigation process including drafting demand letters, analyzing complex medical records, negotiating settlements, and guiding clients through each phase of the claims process. She has obtained significant results on behalf of her clients while maintaining a compassionate, communicative approach.
Katherine also has experience advising clients on matters related to employment and educational law, including due process claims, policy disputes, and administrative hearings. Her litigation background includes conducting depositions, preparing pleadings, and representing clients in hearings before various tribunals.
Katherine earned her Juris Doctor from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Albion College. She is licensed to practice law in both Illinois and Indiana.
