Nikkia R. Pew is an Associate in The Cook Group’s New York City office. Her practice focuses primarily on asbestos litigation and product liability where she defends claims on behalf of product manufacturers, suppliers, and contractors. She works on all aspects of litigation in this practice from inception through trial, including discovery, deposition of witnesses, and motion practice. Prior to joining The Cook Group, Ms. Pew was an Associate at a prominent New York City law firm where she defended parties in general liability and personal injury matters.
Ms. Pew received her Juris Doctorate from Hofstra University School of Law in 2016. While attending law school, Ms. Pew was a Senior Member of the American College for Trust and Estates Counsel law journal. She also interned for the New York State Homes and Community Renewal, the New York Liquidation Bureau, and Hofstra University’s Disaster Recovery Law Clinic. Ms. Pew graduated in May 2016 on the Dean’s List and was the recipient of the Gold Public Service Certificate for completing 750+ pro bono hours before graduating. She graduated cum laude from Virginia State University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and a Minor in Sociology as a Presidential Scholar of the university.
Ms. Pew is admitted to practice before the State Courts of New York and New Jersey and the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. In addition, Ms. Pew is currently a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association.
