Grace De Mario is a Partner in The Cook Group’s New York City office. Her litigation practice has centered on representing asbestos clients in state and federal courts pertaining to claims stemming from toxic torts inclusive of product liability, personal injury and wrongful death cases for close to twenty years. She has significant knowledge in defending nationally prominent equipment and product manufacturers sued in hundreds of asbestos cases on the New York City Asbestos Litigation docket for some of the firm’s larger clients. Her specialty has centered around vigorously conducting high-risk / complex depositions and working closely with her clients to effectively devise strong defenses. She has attended and conducted several hundred lead and cross-examinations on behalf of Fortune 500, other high-profile defendants, and smaller family-owned enterprises. In addition, she manages a team of associates and high profile / volume accounts while remaining involved in all aspects of discovery and trial, working with well-respected defense experts, in-depth reporting, and negotiating dismissals and complex settlement packages while maintaining intimate close client communication.

Prior to joining The Cook Group, Ms. De Mario worked at McGivney, Kluger & Cook and Malaby & Bradley. She also worked as a summer and winter associate at Cozen O’Connor and interned for The Honorable Joseph J. Maltese of the New York State Supreme Court and The Administration for Children Services for the Staten Island Family Court. Ms. De Mario has also undertaken pro bono work in her community in Staten Island.

Ms. De Mario is a member of the American Bar Association, National Association of Women Lawyers, New York State Bar Association, and New York County Lawyers’ Association. Ms. De Mario is also actively involved in various charitable organizations, including Emergency Children’s Help Organization (NY).
