Armand Kalfayan is a Partner with The Cook Group, with his primary practice in New York and New Jersey. For well over a decade, Armand has defended product manufacturers, product distributors, premises owners, contractors, ship owners, mining entities, trusts, employers, corporations, and small businesses in litigation arising from alleged asbestos and talc exposure, and against product defect, maritime, contractor, and premises liability claims, including during trial. He litigates matters pending in state and federal courts, and the New York Appellate Division. Armand presents an aggressive defense, balancing progressive advocacy, effective trial practice, and strategic negotiations to achieve favorable results for his clients.
In addition to his litigation experience, Armand provides consult to start up and small businesses. He has represented such clients with respect to corporate formation and dispute resolution. He also provides guidance to high profile chefs in New York City’s fine dining industry concerning available business opportunities and offers strategic guidance in contract negotiations.
Prior to formation of The Cook Group, Armand was Partner and Of Counsel to two national law firms, and a principal part of those firms’ Toxic Tort, Environmental & Energy practices in New York and New Jersey. He has participated and led trial advocacy and peer mentoring programs at prior firms, which aimed to provide opportunities for professional development to newly admitted attorneys and continuing education to more seasoned attorneys.
