Christopher Ball is a partner in The Cook Group’s Chicago office. He graduated from the University of Akron School of Law in 2010. During law school he was a member of the University of Akron Law Review and several Moot Court teams. After graduation he worked for the local prosecutor’s office in the Dependency and Neglect Division, safeguarding the rights of vulnerable children in the county and developing his advocacy and trial skills in front of several judges and magistrates. After passing the Illinois bar in 2011 Christopher moved to Chicago and concentrated his practice on civil litigation.
Prior to joining The Cook Group in 2021 he spent years representing several large equipment and product manufacturers in a variety of cases across the country. Christopher has continued his work representing these clients as a partner with The Cook Group with a focus on legal research and writing on complex issues ranging from personal jurisdiction to dispositive motions to appellate practice.
Christopher has argued motions in front of judges in Cook County, Madison County, and McLean County. Some of the primary areas of focus in his legal writing and oral arguments include conflicts of laws, discovery rules, collateral estoppel, res judicata, statutes of limitation and repose, and statutory construction. He also serves clients in other key areas of the legal field such as small business planning, and Medicare reporting compliance.
Christopher enjoys spending time with his wife Kelly and his daughter Madison and is an avid reader of history and fantasy novels.
