Joshua Maddox is an Associate in The Cook Group’s New York City office. His
experience includes appellate matters, commercial and tort litigation, data privacy, and
legal research.
Prior to joining The Cook Group, Joshua served as a judicial law clerk with the Honorable Judge Dawne G. Westbrook at the Connecticut Appellate Court. While there, he helped draft opinions and bench memoranda, conducted legal research, reviewed trial records, and assisted in preparing matters for oral argument. He also gained appellate experience through internships and clinical work, including work on matters before the Connecticut Appellate and Supreme Courts.
Joshua earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Connecticut School of Law, where
he served as Co-President of the Black Law Students Association, 2L and 3L Day Student Bar Association Representative, Co-Director of Moot Court for the Northeast Black Law Students Association, IT and Research Editor for the Connecticut Journal of International Law, and was the Founder and President of the UConn Law Basketball Club. Joshua also received a CALI Award in Cyberlaw. Beyond law school, Joshua has remained connected with the legal community. Joshua currently serves as the Chair of Judicial Diversity for the George W. Crawford Black Bar Association.
