With Covid-19 precautions in mind, New Jersey has rolled out a new phased system for virtual jury trials in the state starting February 1, 2021. Under Phase One, virtual jury trials will be held in the following eight counties: Atlantic, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester, Salem, Monmouth, Passaic and Union. During the Second Phase, which commences on April 5, 2021, all New Jersey counties are mandated to proceed with remote jury trials. In both phases, jury selection will be conducted virtually.
