Lauren Hutchison is an associate attorney in The Cook Group’s New York City office. Her practice focuses on intellectual property litigation and complex civil matters, drawing on experience in federal court, trial preparation, and entertainment law.
Prior to joining The Cook Group, Lauren represented leading technology clients in patent and trademark litigation. She participated in high-stakes jury trials involving media, gaming, and telecommunications, and successfully argued motions in federal court, including Daubert and Rule 50 motions. Her experience spans discovery, deposition preparation, evidentiary hearings, and the negotiation of licensing and rights agreements.
Lauren has also advised clients in the music and entertainment industries, working with producers, songwriters, and athletes on matters involving copyright, trademark registration, and recording agreements. She has drafted and negotiated a variety of contracts, including synch licenses, publishing agreements, and copyright termination notices.
Lauren earned her Juris Doctor from The George Washington University Law School, where she served as Executive Managing Editor of the American Intellectual Property Law Association Journal and received high honors for her published work on music copyright. She was also an executive board member of the Entertainment and Sports Law Association and participated in negotiation, moot court, and mock trial competitions. Lauren earned her Bachelor of Arts in American Studies, cum laude, from The George Washington University, with minors in Journalism and History.
She is admitted to practice in New York and the District of Columbia.
