Ella G. Kimbell is an Associate in The Cook Group's New York City office, where she represents clients in complex civil litigation.
Prior to joining The Cook Group, Ella served as a Post-Bar Law Clerk with a California litigation firm, where she conducted legal research, drafted pleadings, motions, discovery, and legal memoranda, and supported attorneys throughout all phases of litigation. Her experience also included analyzing case materials, preparing factual chronologies, assisting with deposition preparation, and managing complex discovery.
While earning her Juris Doctor, Ella completed a judicial externship with the Honorable Gail Killefer of the Superior Court of California, County of Los Angeles, where she drafted bench memoranda and analyzed dispositive motions and other significant legal issues. She also served as a Law Clerk in the Office of U.S. Senator Richard J. Durbin, supporting matters before the Senate Judiciary Committee through legal research, policy analysis, and preparation of materials related to judicial nominations and federal legislative issues.
Ella earned her Juris Doctor through Southwestern Law School's accelerated SCALE Two-Year Program. During law school, she served as Vice President of the Student Bar Association, participated in the Dean's Leadership Academy, and was recognized with the Wildman-Schumacher Scholarship and The Profession – Distinction in Writing Award. She earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in Economics, cum laude, from Baylor University, where she held leadership roles within several student organizations.
Ella is admitted to practice law in the State of New York.
Outside of her practice, Ella enjoys staying engaged with leadership and mentorship opportunities and values giving back through professional and community involvement.
