Julia Lawless is an Associate in The Cook Group's Philadelphia office, where she represents clients in complex civil litigation.
Prior to joining The Cook Group, Julia practiced with a regional defense firm, where she managed matters through all stages of litigation, including drafting pleadings, discovery, and motions while providing strategic counsel to clients and claims professionals.
Julia previously served as Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Kay Walcott-Henderson of the New Jersey Superior Court, Appellate Division. The experience provided valuable insight into appellate advocacy, judicial decision-making, and complex legal analysis.
During law school, Julia gained experience in intellectual property and environmental law through positions with a private firm, the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, and as a Faculty Research Assistant at Drexel University Thomas R. Kline School of Law.
Julia earned her Juris Doctor from Drexel University Thomas R. Kline School of Law, where she served as Executive Editor of Research for the Drexel Law Review. She also competed on the school's Alternative Dispute Resolution Arbitration Team and received the CALI Award for excellence in State and Local Government. She earned her Bachelor of Arts, summa cum laude, from Skidmore College with departmental honors in Art History, a minor in Chemistry, and election to Phi Beta Kappa.
Julia is admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Outside of her practice, Julia enjoys figure skating, taking ballet classes, and exploring Philadelphia's museums.
